After his enlistment in the Navy, Councilman Brady spent five years in Raleigh, North Carolina attending North Carolina State University (NCSU). He earned two Bachelor Degrees, one in Electrical Engineering and another in Nuclear Engineering.
During this time, he was employed part-time by the University as a student Reactor Operator at their 1-megawatt (MW) Pulstar Reactor. In this capacity, he was licensed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
